Murder mystery night
We've mentioned before that there is a local amateur dramatics group that put on the panto every year, and in February this year they also took on delivering a murder mystery night across a three course meal in Kames community hall. Written and directed by the group's leader, it really was a great night out. Set in the prohibition era of 1920s America, everyone attending donned something in tune with those times - amazing what comes out the wardrobe!
Dave of course had a leading part as Carey Campbell (with trilby and moustache in the photo below) - a cad of a film star so far unto and into himself, with a gambling debt he owed to the deceased being a potential motive. A great nice out, even though we didn't guess correctly who dunnit. The actors threw themselves into it and we love the fact that this sort of thing is on offer and a sold out event.
Inverary
A winter's walk through the grounds of Inverary Castle with Adam and Emma and their two dogs, Finley and Fergus, after a lovely lunch at The George was also really great - sunshine and showers being the order of the day. The George in Inverary, BTW, is a great pub and surprisingly great menu of home cooked food, noting: up here, Venison burger in the pub is cheaper than beef burger - and tastier! We all had something different and all enjoyed it, sitting by the open, roaring fire.
Inverary castle is beautiful and the grounds are free to walk through and we were treated to a beautiful rainbow as we walked. Fergus had a swim in the river and we had a good stretch on a lap through the woods, talking about where to find the best secret beaches and spots to go swimming, a trip on the Waverley as a potential day out in the future.
Great times to get out and about, see friends and visit new places.
