Where to start? 27 years since John came into our lives. Not long after Liz and John met she brought him home to meet us. Liz had told us a few days previously that she had bought a parachute jump for John's birthday as a surprise. During the family meal John said that Liz was a bit of an adrenaline junkie. We asked whether he was the same. His response was, 'There's one thing I could never do, and that's a parachute jump'. John (Liz's Dad) and I
looked at each other and winced. But he did it, just the once.
There has been a lot of fun, lots of laughs and enjoyable visits, both in Leamington and Glendaruel, where we've been welcomed with kindness and generosity.
When Liz and John decided to move to Glendaruel it was a with mixed emotions that we absorbed the reality. It's a 7 hour drive and we knew we wouldn't see them as often as we had while they were in Leamington. However, it was their dream to go there after spending a few holidays over the border.
Every time we visit we see the magnificence and grandeur of the Highlands. It is very peaceful, beautiful and the community is caring and close. The wildlife is abundant and beautiful and we can understand why Liz and John wanted to move there. To wake each day to the spectacular view from the bungalow is unparalleled.
We did a walk in Pucks Glen with John earlier this year and it's the most beautiful walk we've ever done.
It's been a joy see soulmates grow together with our lovely grandaughters. Some things are meant to be, and Liz and John have been blessed to have found each other just as we have been blessed to have had such a wonderful son in law and daughter. So proud of you both.
