Welcome to North Star Tranquility

Hi everyone, and thank you so much for joining us! This is the story of our search for a beautiful new home for our (very early) retirement! We have only just started looking and it is proving a very enjoyable but also frustrating experience. We thought we might come across some helpful tips to share, and one day I'd love to turn property hunting for other people into my dream job. We would love it if you joined us on our journey, whatever it brings along the way!

So, why North Star Tranquility? Well, this was John's idea. Tranquility is, of course, what we ultimately crave at this point of our lives (more of this later). And North Star after Polaris, often called the North Star, as it is a constant in the night sky. In the northern hemisphere it remains static as it is positioned right above the North Pole, and is readily visible to the naked eye. It is useful for navigation and something to aim for. Thus the North Star represents our goal of finding a peaceful refugee for our future, child-free years together.
